This innovative activity is based on the book SEEDFOLKS, by author Paul Fleischman.
“Thirteen very different voices – old, young, Haitian, Hispanic, tough, haunted, and hopeful tell one amazing story about a garden that transforms a neighborhood.”
Please read the book and join the movement!
Our goal for summer 2016, is to collect poetry, short stories, and prose from residence in the the city of Warren that stem around community gardens.  This project is a way to spread the word about the gardens, with the hopes of getting more people involved and to show the positive impact urban agriculture has on our community, in a way that promotes literacy. We encourage you to write, not only, about the growing season but also your encounters with the people you meet, your experiences, accomplishments, frustrations, or things youve witnessed.  You also dont have to be a gardener to submit.  Maybe youve walked by or live by one of the gardens.  Maybe you drive by on your way to work.  Whatever your connection, we want to hear from you!  We would love to have submissions from people of all ages and walks of life.  Our goal is to put together a collection of literature by our community to put together a book that will be released summer 2017.
Read the book.
